Quick answer: The price of online Quran classes in the USA depends on lesson length, the number of classes per week, whether lessons are one-to-one or group, and what’s included, such as reports, oversight and a free trial. The fairest way to compare is cost per minute of live one-to-one teaching. As one example, Quran Specialist Online charges $35, $48, $60 or $70 a month for 2, 3, 4 or 5 live one-to-one 30-minute classes a week, with a 7-day free trial and no credit card required.
Written by Quran Specialist Online (QSO). We’re an online Quran academy, so we’ve shown our own prices as an example and haven’t quoted any other provider’s fees.
What drives the price
1. Lesson length
Thirty minutes is common for children, because it’s long enough for real progress and short enough to keep them focused after school. Some providers offer 45 or 60 minutes. Always check the length before comparing monthly totals.
2. Classes per week
Most families choose between two and five classes a week. Beginners often start with two or three. Hifz students often need four or five.
3. One-to-one vs group
Group classes can cost less per family, but each child reads aloud for less of the lesson. Reading the Quran is learned by reciting and being corrected, so one-to-one time is usually where the value is.
4. What’s included
Look for written progress reports, a manager who checks lessons, the option to change teachers, and the freedom to change plans. These cost an academy time, and they’re worth having.
5. Trial and payment terms
Is there a free trial? Do you need to enter a credit card first? Can you cancel or change plans easily?
How to compare fairly: cost per minute
Work out the monthly cost divided by the minutes of one-to-one teaching. For a typical month (about 4.3 weeks):
| QSO plan | Monthly price | Classes/week | Approx. minutes/month | Approx. cost per minute |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $35 | 2 | ~260 | ~$0.13 |
| 3 classes | $48 | 3 | ~390 | ~$0.12 |
| 4 classes | $60 | 4 | ~520 | ~$0.12 |
| 5 classes | $70 | 5 | ~650 | ~$0.11 |
Minutes are approximate, because the number of class days varies from month to month.
Use the same calculation for any academy you’re considering, and make sure you’re comparing live one-to-one minutes with live one-to-one minutes.

Hidden costs to ask about
- Registration or admission fees
- Charges for missed lessons or rescheduling
- Whether books or materials cost extra
- How billing works after the trial, and how to cancel
Ask every academy, including us, to put these answers in writing.
Is the cheapest option the best value?
Not always. The plan your child actually sticks with is the best value. A teacher your child connects with, regular reports, and a parent who can sit in all make it more likely you’ll still be going a year from now.
Five questions to ask before you pay
- How long is each class, and is it live one-to-one?
- Is the price per month, and how many classes does it include?
- Is there a free trial, and do I need to give a credit card?
- Can I switch plans or change teachers without a fee?
- Will I get written progress reports, and can I sit in on lessons?
If an academy answers all five clearly, in writing, you can compare prices properly.
